Introduction: In recent years, antibiotic resistance has been on the rise, leading to limited ways to control nosocomial infections (especially surgical site infections) and the right treatment options. The main purpose of this study was the pattern of antibiotic resistance and the frequency of plasmid-dependent quinolone resistance (qnr) genes in Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates isolated from surgical site infections of patients admitted to Yasouj hospitals. method: This is a descriptive cross-sectional study on 45 isolates of Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli isolated from surgical site infections of patients admitted to Yasuj hospitals in 1398. Isolates were tested for resistance to quinolone drugs by agar disk diffusion method. Quinolone-resistant isolates were then examined for the presence of qnrB, qnrA and qnrS genes using PCR. findings: In the present study, the highest antibiotic resistance to ciprofloxacin was 75.6%. Resistance to levofloxacin and ofloxacin antibiotics was 73.3% and 62.2%, respectively, 24 (70.6%) isolates had at least one qnr gene, of which 7 (20.6%) isolates containing qnrB gene, 4 (11.8%) isolates containing qnrA gene and 13 (38.2%) isolates carrying the gene were qnrS. The present study shows a high prevalence of plasmid-induced quinolone resistance (70.6%) among all quinolone-resistant isolates. Conclusion: The final results of the present study indicate that the resistance to quinolone antibiotics in gram-negative bacteria isolated from surgical site infections has a high and significant prevalence, so the use of appropriate treatment strategies and proper prescription and the rationale for antibiotics by physicians is also important in controlling them.
